Our Ministries Adult Fellowships Adult Fellowships Adult Fellowships are lifestage communities primarly on Sunday morning that combine fellowship, food, teaching and laughter. These communities are places where people can meet others, share prayer needs, and learn and discuss together God’s Word – through Old Testament, New Testament, Topical and Doctrinal studies. Each Adult Fellowship is led by a leadership team and reaches out to various groups of people at FCCO – Young Adults, Parents, Empty Nesters, etc. Positions: Sunday Morning Teachers, Outreach Leaders, Care and Prayer leaders Children Children’s Church Our team provides for the care and teaching of children ages 5-10 during the worship services on Sunday (both services during the summer, just first service during the school year). We sing Christian songs, pray, teach a Bible story or do a craft with the children during the 20-30 minute time period. Positions: Team Leader, Teachers, Helpers Kingdom Kidz Sunday School Our team’s purpose is to provide a loving, nurturing and age-appropriate environment for children to understand who God is, so that in God’s timing, a child will come to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in that relationship. We program on 5 week rotations, employing drama, movie theater, cooking, games, crafts, and service stations. Positions: Kingdom Kidz Coordinator, Various station leaders, and small group shepherds (lead 5 kids). Nursery The nursery ministers to infants and parents on Sunday morning through providing a top-notch childcare for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We provide a trained and caring staff who minister to children through caregiving, Bible stories, prayer, and fun and games. The goal is that parents will feel good about leaving their child with us so they can worship God. Positions: Team Leader, Nursery Workers and Helpers Vacation Bible School VBS is a week-long summer learning adventure for children which incorporates singing, crafts, Bible teaching, games, snacks, etc. to help kids learn about Jesus and get to know Him. Children from our church and other churches as well as children from the community attend. Positions: VBS Team Leader, Small Group Leaders, Snack Coordinator, Various Activity Center Leaders Crisis Counseling This ministry offers personal support and a variety of resolution opportunities to anyone struggling with overwhelming life issues and/or circumstances. Positions: Crisis Counselors Global Outreach (GO!) Christ commands that we spread the gospel to the far ends of the earth. We desire to see our church motivated to know, pray for and give financially to our missionaries as well as be open to God’s call for individuals themselves to go. Through bulletin updates, mission moments, and short term mission trips, we hope to encourage a global missions heart here at FCCO. Positions: GO Team Leader and members, Short-term mission team members Leadership CouncilWe provide general watchcare and oversight for the church. This includes prayer for the ministry, church discipline issues, staff accountability, the recommendation of a budget to the congregation, and the appointing of a personnel team (for hiring, evaluation and termination of paid staff). Positions: Leadership Council Chair, Leadership Council Members (elected by the congregation) Local Outreach Dinner Bell Our goal is to provide people with a hot meal in a Christian atmosphere where relationships can be built. Through these relationships people can and have been introduced to the love of Christ. Weekly teams carry out the many jobs needed to prepare and serve the meal on Saturday evenings from 5-6 pm. All are welcome. Positions: Dinner Bell Coordinators, Weekly Cooks and Helpers Jail Ministry We have a men's team and a women's team who lead ongoing evangelistic Bible studies at the Carroll County Jail in Ossipee. Positions: Men's and Women's Bible Study leaders and assistants Marriage (Couples) Marriage conferences We encourage couples to invest in their marriages through a weekend get-away. There are various offerings throughout New England, including Family-Life conferences in Portland, Maine and Nashua, NH. Positions: Marriage conference promotors Pre-marital Counseling We offer a 6 week counseling opportunity using the Prepare / Enrich counseling tool. This teaches couples the skills of communication, conflict resolution, family systems, budgeting and goal setting. This counseling is mandatory for anyone who wishes to be married by an FCCO pastor. Positions: Prepare/Enrich Marriage Counselors (requires substantial training) Men Men’s Breakfast This large group of men (35 plus) meets on Tuesday mornings in Wolfeboro for fellowship and the study of Scripture. This is a great place for men to connect into community here at FCCO. For more information about opportunities for men, including retreats, special gatherings, conferences, etc., please contact Pete DeJager, Jr. Operations Administrative Support Our team’s goal is to provide the overall administrative support to the ministries of the church. We do this through being the network of communication (bulletins, newsletters), answering phones, sending correspondance, managing facility usage, etc. We strive to serve the body of Christ by providing efficient, courteous and effective office support for the ministry of the church. Positions: Newsletter folding team member, Bulletin board coordinator, Fill-In Receptionist Finance We coordinate the church budget and oversee the day-to-day income and expenditures of the church, including counting the Sunday offering. Positions: Church Treasurer (elected by the congregation), Assistant Treasurer (Ellie Bossdorf) Buildings and Grounds We develop and care for the buildings and grounds
at the church. Buildings include painting, repairs, remodeling, etc.
Landscaping includes lawn spraying, fertilizing, tree pruning, flower
bed work and seasonal raking. Seniors Our team’s purpose is to provide both spiritual and practical assistance during the various stages of the aging process. There are a high percentage of senior adults in the Lakes Region and the needs are varied. Our program presently includes monthly social/spiritual activities (meals, trips, speakers, etc.) and a visitation program. Positions: Fellowship activity planners and leaders, Nursing home visitors Small Groups At FCCO, we believe a small group of 4 to 12 people provides the optimal environment for the type of life-change Jesus intends for every believer. Small groups allow you to deepen relationships with a few other Christians you have learned to trust over time. A small group is a place to apply the Bible to daily life and encourage each other in the basic habits and character qualities of a follower of Christ. We offer a number of different small groups based on where you are in your spiritual journey: seeker small groups, Getting Started groups, Basic and Ongoing Accountability Groups, and Need –Oriented Groups. Small Groups meet here and in homes throughout the week – morning, day, and evening. Positions: Various Small Group leaders and apprentices,Wednesday Night Cooks, Kitchen Helpers, Dining Room Set-up, Students Junior High Our goal is to see 7th and 8th graders be introduced to the person of Christ and lay down a foundation of practical faith. Students need a place to gather to build friendships and find out what it means to be a Christian. We meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights in the Youth Center, as well as go on several trips each year (service projects, camp weekends, Christian concerts, etc.) Positions: Sunday Morning teachers and helpers, Wednesday Night Small Group leaders Senior High Our goal is to disciple high school students and equip them with a practical faith. In order to accompish this, we aim to: present the Bible as a relevant document that addresses issues that students face, build a community where students can discuss their spiritual lives and struggles, show Christ's love through caring adult mentors, and give students opportunities to serve. We meet on Sunday mornings and and Wednesday nights. Positions: Sunday morning teachers and helpers, Sunday night small group leaders Welcome Coffee Team We make pots of coffee on Sunday mornings for people to enjoy after worship services and in various Sunday School classes. Positions: Team Leader, Weekly Coffee Preparers and Clean-up Crew members NewComers Team Our goal is to help new people feel welcome and connected within the body of Christ here at FCCO through our Pastor’s Reception, Orientation Class, Who’s Who and Information Center which is ready to answer the questions of newcomers. Positions: Reception hosts, Info Booth Coordinator, Sunday AM Workers, Who’s Who Phone callers Ushers and Greeters Our team’s goal is to provide a welcoming, warm and safe environment void of distractions so that individuals can hear God’s truth through the events of the service. We welcome people to the service, hand out bulletins, set up and take down chairs, and collect the offering. Positions: Head ushers, weekly ushers, weekly greeters Women Mom’s Group This is an informal and relaxed study/support group for mothers in the congregation as well as an outreach to mothers in the surrounding community. We meet on Thursday mornings to pray together and to study and discuss Biblical principles for raising children. Positions: Mom's Group leader, Childcare Coordinator, Mentor Mom Wednesday Morning Bible Study This Bible study meets in Wolfeboro and is a wonderful fellowship time centered around the study of God's Word. New people are always welcome! Women’s Ministry Breakfast Our team brings women together quarterly for a time of fellowship and evangelistic outreach. We aim to be a team that ministers primarily to women in spiritual matters through building friendships, especially between older and younger women. Positions: Team Leader, Publicity, Food, Program, and Tickets
Worship Bell Choir We play traditional handbells in the worship service at different times of the year. Decorations Our team tries to make FCCO a beautiful place through placing floral arrangements and other decorations throughout the meeting areas in the church. Special flower projects based on the seasons are also a part of our team. Positions: Decorations Team Leader, Seasonal Decorators Technical Arts Our team uses technology (video and audio) so that people will be better able to understand God’s truth in the worship service. Our culture is media-intensive and in order to capture people’s attention, we use various forms of media on Sunday mornings and during special events. Positions: Sound Board, Powerpoint, Video and Audio Tape Technicians Creative Arts We minister in song and instrument in our worship services. Music is a creative outlet which communicates Biblical truth and greatly enhances the worship of God. Opportunities to participate include the choir, music team and special concerts.
