About Us: Our Goals

1. FCCO Children's Ministries will present a Christ-Centered curriculum that fosters life change.

John 5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."

Goal: To see every child enter into a personal relationship with Christ and be spiritually transformed.

We will consistently provide the opportunity for children to recognize that we are all sinners before God, that Jesus dies for each one of us on the cross, and that He invited each one of us into a personal, growing, life-changing eternal relationship with Him.

2. FCCO Children's Ministries is Child-Targeted

Matthew 19:14 "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Goal: To make this the best hour of a child's week.

We are deliberate in appealing to kids through Bible teaching, music, activities and environment.

3. FCCO Children's Ministries is safe

Matthew 25:35 "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."

Psalm 27:5 "For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his swelling' he will hid me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock."

Goal: For families to feel and experience a high level of warmth and safety.

We are committed to providing physical, emotional and spiritual safety.

4. FCCO Children's Ministries will teach the bible creatively

2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."

Goal: To teach the Bible in ways that cause kids to thirst for more of the Word of God.

We will teach the bible in a manner that makes the Bible come alive so that the truth God intended for everyone to learn is rooted into the hearts and minds of our kids.

5. FCCO Children's Ministries is relevant and application-oriented

James 1:22 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

Goal: For kids to understand that the Bible written so long ago applies to their lives today and always.

We will communicate to kids that God's word , the Bible, is filled with truth that they won't find anywhere else to help them through life.

6. FCCO Children's Ministries will intentionally shepherd in small groups

Isaiah 40:11 "He tends his flock like a shepherd' He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart, he gently leads those that have young."

Goal: To offer a place where every child will be individually treasured and valued to know and be known' to love and be loved and to serve and be served.

We will intentionally help children apply the Bible lesson to their lives and to connect them into community as they work toward character transformation.

7. FCCO Children's Ministries will serve families with excellence

1 Peter 5:2,3 "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must' but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; ....eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

Goal: To continually re-evaluate our goals, methods and needs of our families.

We are committed to serve with excellence using our God-given gifts and resources. We trust He will fully equip us to pursue His plan and his purpose.
